Become an Activist

We have designed live-in programs that enable us to remain active, and you to become immediately active – with different levels and kinds of support, depending on your needs.

Academic Program

The academic program includes core and elective courses in theory and practical skills. We guide, teach, and monitor you to achieve your set goals. There are assignments in written form, as well as practical exercises, working with Activists-in-Residency or house residents.

Costs

Tuition 450 €
Room and Board 350 €

Money-back guarantee: If you are not completely satisfied with what you learned here, the tuition is reimbursed in full (food and housing costs are not returned).

Residency Program

Choose a project, and if accepted, you may carry it out under the supervision of, and with the support of the house cadre. You must have completed the ‘Student Program’, or have equivalent knowledge and skills. A residency is a semi-stipend (you pay part for room and board, but only part of the tuition).

The residency requires regular progress reports, like graduate school lab presentations, essays or videos. The final assignment is a video or written description of your project, its goals and its accomplishments.

You can choose any length of stay between 1 month and 1 year. Stays longer than 1 month require a test week and consensus on your acceptance by the house residents.

Financial assistance

You may either volunteer in our in-house pizzeria to support the project that can finance your stay (you need to apply for a grant by Pizza Lab), or crowdfund it (whereby you shall learn how to crowdfund).

Certification

As an NGO, we are able to issue official and stamped certificates that prove your participation as student, intern or stipendiary, listing all the skills you acquired, areas you worked on and projects you fulfilled.

Resources

In the last ten years, we’ve acquired an enormous amount of knowledge, experience and practical skills to mount projects and direct action. We have tools to build and repair technical appliances, and even a 3D-printer. There is a large neighborhood network ready to support cool projects. We’re dying to get to know you and support you in your project!

Application

Apply informally giving the information required for your desired program by e-mail. Keep it short and sweet; you can provide details during a subsequent video call.

Twenty-four hours after the videocall, you’ll be notified whether you’re accepted.

Depending on your wished length of stay, you shall be invited to a test week. In the event that you should decide to leave early, or are not invited to stay after the test week, all fees shall be returned, except per day pro-rated room and board.
